VMSSA Team Portal — Text Message Program

About this portal

The Vancouver Metro Senior Softball Association (VMSSA) is a recreational softball league for players age 60 and over, based in Vancouver, WA. This portal is the league's private operational tool: managers use it to set lineups, post schedules, and track who is available for each game. Player and roster pages require a login. This page is public so that anyone — including our players and our messaging provider — can review how our text-message notifications work.

Our text message (SMS) program

VMSSA sends occasional text messages to players and team managers who have asked to receive them. These are operational notices about league play only — there is no marketing or advertising of any kind. Typical messages include:

Game-day reminders (opponent, time, field, and when to arrive)
Availability reminders before upcoming games
Umpire assignment notices for assigned officials
A one-time confirmation when a player first opts in

Message frequency: low and seasonal — generally a few messages per week per team during the playing season, and little or none in the off-season.

Opt in to text messages

Receiving texts is entirely optional and is off by default. A player is only added after they ask to be.

Use the form below to opt in. Enter your mobile number, your email address, or both — at least one must match what your team manager has on file for you.

Example message

Sample game-day text [Barrelroom] GAME 4 vs. Ball Busters — Tue 5:00 PM. Arrive by 4:30 PM. Questions? Call Nick: 360-241-8678. Reply STOP to opt out.

How to opt out

You can stop messages at any time, in any of these ways — any one is enough:

Reply	What happens
STOP	You are unsubscribed immediately and will receive no further texts. (Also: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT.)
START	Re-subscribes you if you previously opted out. (Also: YES, UNSTOP.)
HELP	Returns help information and a contact. (Also: INFO.)

You may also simply ask your team manager to remove you. After replying STOP you will receive one final confirmation message and nothing more.

Privacy

We collect only the mobile phone number a player provides and their opt-in status. Phone numbers are used solely to send the league notices described above.

We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers or any contact information with third parties for their own purposes.
Phone numbers are stored only in VMSSA's own league database and are shared with our messaging provider only to the extent needed to deliver these messages.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
A player can have their number and opt-in status removed at any time by opting out or asking their manager.

Terms of use

This portal and its text-message notifications are provided to VMSSA league members for organizing recreational softball games. Messages are informational only. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply; VMSSA is not responsible for carrier charges. Service is provided on an as-available basis, and message delivery depends on your mobile carrier. By opting in you confirm the mobile number you provide is yours and that you consent to receive the messages described above. Continued participation indicates acceptance of these terms; opt out at any time as described above.
